Your privacy is critically important to us. Paydirt has a few major objectives for respecting your privacy:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless required for the completion of a transaction.
  • Personal information gathered during a transaction will always be protected with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. 
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.

Paydirt (A subsidiary of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology Student Government Association) operates one website under the parent URLs and It is Paydirt’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Paydirt collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Paydirt’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Paydirt's visitors use its website. From time to time, Paydirt may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Paydirt also uses Goolge Analytics, which collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for all website visitors. Google Analytics also tracks the pages you visit on our site, how long you visit each page, the browser, operating system, and ISP (Internet Service Provider) you use to visit our site, and demographics including: your city, language, gender, age, and interests. This information is collected by Google, but only some of it is shared with Paydirt (Google's Privacy Policy can be found here). Paydirt is not responsible for the information Google collects or how they decide to share it. Paydirt will only use this information to understand and optimize site traffic. It will not be shared with organizations outside of New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.  

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Paydirt's website choose to interact with Paydirt in ways that require Paydirt to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Paydirt gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Those who engage in transactions with Paydirt will be redirected to our commerce service, Stripe (Stripe's Privacy Policy can be found here). Users may be asked to provide additional information to Stripe, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Stripe collects and shares such information with Paydirt only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Paydirt. Paydirt does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities. 

Aggregated Statistics

Paydirt may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Paydirt may monitor the most popular articles on the site. Paydirt may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Paydirt does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Paydirt discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Paydirt’s behalf or to provide services available at Paydirt’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Paydirt uses cookies to help Paydirt identify and track visitors, their usage of Paydirt website, and their website access preferences. Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies.
