For over 500 years people have been playing tennis, and today the NMT Tennis Club carries on that long and proud tradition. Geronimo Macias, the founder of the club, says he started it to help people find something they like to do. “Tennis is a sport you can play for life,” Macias says. “If you want a good de-stressor from classes or if you’re just looking to have fun and hit a ball around, you can come join the club.” No tennis experience is required; club members are more than happy to teach beginners the fundamentals. Playing with the Tennis Club is also a good way to network and socialize at Tech. The club is involved with the USTA (United States Tennis Association), and they are planning to play in tournaments with NMSU, UNM, and UTEP. Practices are on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Sedillo tennis courts. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
